Abstract: Effective participation of the national minorities in the contemporary Serbia’s public life is being realized trough directly or indirectly elected minority self governments and trough direct participation of the national minority political parties in government at all levels of territorial organization. Serbian multiculturalism policy has not yet been consistent and is not compliant with the social needs thus there are many open questions relating national minorities participationin in  the political system – the electoral system model, distingushing the minority parties influence on electios and functioning of the minority self governements, affirmative action measures etc.
